Moka Pot

MOKA POT

PREPARATION::

Select your favorite roasted coffee beans - Fine ground. The Moka Pot uses pressure and heat to make a strong coffee a bit like a dark drip coffee or a long espresso/Americano. 



STEP: 1

Fill the Moka pot Basket with ground coffee and about 20 to 22 grams depending on your Moka pot basket. Fill it, don’t press it, just level it equally to the basket.



STEP 2:

Pour hot water to the bottom chamber until water fills half the chamber. Place Basket over the chamber and screw on the Moka pot’s sprouted top. Be careful! The bottom chamber will be hot. Use a thick towel or oven gloves to protect your hand.

 

STEP 3:

Place the pot on a stove set to medium heat. Water on the bottom chamber will evaporate but it is trapped so it gives pressure to the coffee to push it through the flannel and it will do the brewing. 

 

STEP 4:

When you hear a hissing, bubbling sound. Remove it from the heat and cool down the chamber by running through the tap water to completely stop the brewing process.
